Anne-Françoise Jumeau has always had the ambition to work in collaboration - with other architects as well as with all those involved in the building industry. Constant questioning of compartmentalization for a horizontal approach to the exercise of his discipline.
His experience as a gallery owner for eight years now, with the creation of the progress gallery, has undoubtedly reinforced his desire to experiment further with the porosities existing between the arts and architecture. So, this proposal: that seven artists – painters, visual artist and photographer – react to his work, whether it is buildings built or in progress.
A prompt, not a command. This circularity of practices aimed at allowing each artist to appropriate their architecture at their leisure, to borrow from it, to reinvest it. To work in turn, whether on the place, with the place, with the image of the place, or from the perceptual experience that one has had of it. Via these third-party gazes, these plastic productions exempt from the requirements of engineering, bringing architecture out of its ivory tower – and thus in the space of a publication, the time of an exhibition, engaging in new readings which make it possible to distinguish other specificities, to consider other developments"

Anne-Françoise Jumeau a toujours eu l’ambition d’œuvrer en collaboration - avec d’autres architectes comme avec tous les acteurs du bâtiment. Constante remise en cause des cloisonnements pour une approche horizontale de l’exercice de sa discipline.
Son expérience de galeriste depuis huit ans déjà, avec la création de la progress gallery, a sans conteste renforcé son envie d’expérimenter aussi plus avant les porosités existant entre les arts et l’architecture. Alors, cette proposition : que sept artistes – peintres, plasticien et photographe – réagissent à son travail, qu’il s’agisse des bâtiments construits ou en cours.
Une invite et non une commande. Cette circularité des pratiques visant à permettre à chaque artiste de s’approprier son architecture à loisir, d’y emprunter, de la réinvestir. D’œuvrer à son tour, que ce soit sur le lieu, avec le lieu, avec l’image du lieu, ou à partir de l’expérience perceptive que l’on en a eu. Via ces regards tiers, ces productions plastiques exemptes des exigences de l’ingénierie, sortir l’architecture de sa tour d’ivoire – et ainsi dans l’espace d’une publication, le temps d’une exposition, engager à des lectures neuves qui permettent d’en distinguer d’autres spécificités, d’en envisager d’autres développements"
