With the introduction of new plant life, the desert climate gives way to a more Mediterranean atmosphere — a change that will become more pronounced as the plants and trees grow, thereby intensifying the impact of the shade and the water on the climate.The changing landscape of Awal and the deliberate creation of a relief in the design of such urban and architectural elements as the Lagoon, the Mount, the Wave, the Rock, and the Islet, reinforce the Mediterranean appearance of the whole. The relief provides more security in relation to the sea, views of the city, and privacy for the inhabitants.
