The art gallery “Front” has invited us to intervene within the framework of the Trienale of Art in Tsumari, Northern Japan.
We have proposed a project in a relation with the landscape, the winter snow (the layers could go up to 7 meters!), the views et the trekking that visitors do. In this exposition, art works are spread in a series of wild and very little populated valleys.
Matsudai Small Tower is an intervention that proposes two functions in a tour construction enveloped in a galvanized steel net, protecting from the numerous animals in summer.On one hand one is given the opportunity to observe the site from a magestic high point with a solemn view to the valley. On the other hand, the tower contains three duckboard “levels” where visitors are invited for a “experimental night” surrounded by the snow and the peaks.
Dans le cadre de la Trienale d'art de Tsumari, au nord du Japon, la galerie Art Front, qui organise cette manifestation, nous a commandé une intervention.
Nous avons proposé un projet jouant avec le paysage, la neige en hiver (avec une couche qui peut atteindre 7 mètres!), les points de vue et le trekking que font les visiteurs. Car dans cette exposition, les oeuvres sont reparties dans une serie de vallées très sauvages et peu peuplées.
Matsudai Small Tower est une intervention qui propose deux fonctions dans une tour recouverte d'une résille d'acier galvanisé (protegeant des nombreux animaux en été): un point de vue sur le site, qui s'offre l'attitude hiératique d'un étrange animal, et un espace qui en jouant avec la neige et la cime des arbres propose aux campeurs trois plateaux en caillebotis pour une "nuit expérimentale".
